Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Rochester, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across New York run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

I discovered Rosie’s way too late! It’s one of the most authentic Nepali restaurants I’ve found in Rochester. I always start my meal with a cup of their chiya, and it never disappoints. While it’s a bit milder than what many Nepalis might prefer, it’s perfect for my taste. This week, we ordered the steamed momo and jhol momo, and both were absolutely delicious. The flavors instantly reminded me of home in Nepal. One thing that really stood out was the quality of the momo wrappers as they stayed soft even after reheating them in the microwave the next day, unlike many places where they become hard and dry. Their Indian food is also really good! The biryani was not oily at all & it was really delightful! If you're looking for authentic Nepali food in Rochester, Rosie’s is definitely worth a visit!

The first place I’ve ever rated 5 stars. Amazing food, friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere. The butter chicken was delicious. The chicken chow mein was the perfect flavor and spice combination. The garlic naan is fluffy and crispy. And the steamed momo’s were tasty. The food is all reasonably priced. I will be back!

The staff were absolutely amazing β€” friendly, attentive, and full of warmth. Every dish I tried was pure perfection! From the flavorful Jhol Momo and delicious Chicken Chowmein to the creamy Butter Chicken and refreshing Mango Lassi, everything tasted heavenly. The flavors were rich, authentic, and beautifully balanced. Honestly, this place is a hidden gem β€” you should definitely try it at least once in your life!

I came with a friend. The wait staff were amazingly patient and generous while we decided what we wanted. I got Mango Lassi and Garlic Naan as an appetizer while she was deciding what she would like. The naan was some of the best I have had. Our meals were a decent portion. They were good but not as good as other restaurants I have dined at. The waitress brought us a complimentary dessert which was very kind. We are likely to return for the lunch buffet so my friend can explore more to discover which dishes she likes. The chai was unsweetened (I was warned ahead of time) and heavy on the ginger.

Everything was okay, nothing memorable or groundbreaking. Food taste cooked there atleast and hot. Waiters are patient. The chickpeas soup, I got spicy. It was good, just wish the spicy and seasoning was a bit balanced, cause it was more spicy then it was flavorful. I wish things came as a meal. Although most soups and sauces came with white rice, there wasn't an actual meal type dishes unless I didnt read the menu well.
